DALLAS, Sept. 21, 2016 – Global middle-market investment bank Capital Alliance Corp. (www.cadallas.com) has expanded its advisory services in key industry sectors with the addition of three seasoned professionals.
New strategic advisor Kelly J. Gerry brings significant experience in the energy sector, including operations, business development and corporate leadership. He will work with Capital Alliance to identify and engage clients in the energy infrastructure and construction and engineering fields, to whom CAC offers buy-side, sell-side and business development consulting services.
Gerry is the former CEO of the Calgary, Canada-based Caltech Group, where he served in a variety of roles, including work within the oil & gas group. In 2012 he moved to Houston to lead North American engineering leader Stantec’s oil & gas business in the United States. Gerry acts as advisor for several small-cap firms, providing organizational leadership, mentorship and access to capital for restructuring and strategic growth initiatives.
CAC also named Shawn Bhagat as a strategic partner. He most recently was CEO and chairman of American Energy Transport (AET), a fuel transportation company based in Dallas. AET expanded rapidly through acquisitions and in June 2016 merged with Texas TransEastern. Prior to that, Bhagat operated American Energy Distribution, a fuel distributor recognized for eight consecutive years by SMU’s Dallas 100 as being one of the region’s fastest-growing private companies.
At CAC, Bhagat will focus on identifying and engaging prospective clients in the petroleum wholesale, retail, transport and logistics operations in the downstream energy sector.
Wayne Hill has joined CAC’s special projects group, where he will provide technical support to the firm’s investment bankers.
Hill has worked in commercial lending and corporate financial services, including M&A, serving middle market and larger companies in a variety of industries.
